Vedic Psychology

Clues to Understanding the Mind
This course consists of the description of the human mind from Vedic perspective, the 24 modifications from primordial matter (prakriti), consciousness as a characteristic of atma, and its relation to mind (manas), the intellect (buddhi), ego, (ahankara) and the unconscious mind (chitta), relation between mind and senses and mind and physical body; the process of sense perception, memory, proper and improper knowledge and their various categories; causes for mental sickness and how to cure them, the role of love in human life.

Kapila’s Sankhya Darshana

Sankhya in Daily Life
Sankhya is one of the six systems of Indian school of philosophies. It explains the evolution of matter and the three levels of material energy in the human body. Sankhya is the basis for Yoga and Ayurveda and hence knowledge of Sankhya is crucial for both of them. Sankhya teaches us how to remain peaceful and stress-free while functioning in our day to day life.

Vaishnava philosophy is the cream of the Vedas and teaches how to see divinity in everything. It explains the omega of love and how to get love to make our life full of bliss. This is the most popular philosophy practiced in India. This course gives an overview of the various schools of  Vaishnavism and their teachings.

Yoga and Ayurveda

How to keep healthy with Yoga and Ayurveda?
This course consists of an introduction to the basic principles of Yoga and Ayurveda and how they are both based on a common philosophical system. It includes an introduction on Sankhya which forms the basis of the Yoga system. It gives a description of Kriyayoga, the eight limbs of Yoga, its purpose and utility in modern times.

From 17th to 30th March 2011

How to lead a healthy and spiritual life?
In this course the student will learn about the definition of health, the three doshas, and how they are related to various diseases, the daily routine to keep healthy, the three types of treatment, the three pillars of health, the three types of diseases and the five types of karmas.
